FAQ's

How do I place an order ?
Please call or email us with your requirements and we will send you a quote. If you have a project that you would like help with, we will happily look at your drawings or design something with you that would suit your budget. An invoice would be created once you have approved the quote.
Please ensure that you have suitable access for the size of planter(s) you have ordered (eg: a 1mtr cube planter will not fit through a standard size doorframe).

How much is delivery?
Delivery charges are calculated dependent on the size and quantity of the order.

Do you deliver anywhere the UK?
Yes we deliver all over UK mainland, Ireland and overseas.

Do you do site measures?
If you are working on a project or want something designed specifically, we can discuss this with you and arrange a site visit if necessary.

What colours do the planters come in?
We can offer our planters in any RAL, British Standard or Pantone colour. We can even colour match to logos and all well-known paint brands. Due to monitor differences, actual colours may vary slightly from what appears online. If an exact colour is required, please request a swatch.

What finishes do the planters come in?
All our planters are available in a matt, satin, gloss or metallic finish. We also have a wide range of effects, visit our effects page.

What is GRP?
Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is fibreglass, it is strong, hardwearing, durable, frost-proof, rust-proof and light weight. Not to be confused with fibre-clay.

Are GRP planters environmentally friendly?
Our Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) planters are now made using “green resin”. For more information please click here.

What are the benefits to using GRP planters?
GRP is durable, frost-proof, rust-proof, lightweight and usually the most cost effective see in our blog “The Benefits of GRP”. If you’d like to know more about how GRP compares to metal or concrete planters click here.

How long do GRP planters last?
All our GRP planters are guaranteed for 10 years from the planter build, although they will last much longer than this.

What is the thickness of GRP planters?
The thickness of the GRP would depend on the size of the planter but as a guide – Smaller planters up to 600mm³ are 3mm thick, medium sized planters up to 700mm³ are 5mm thick, larger planters up to 1000mm³ are approximately 8mm thick and extra-large planters 10mm thick. Please be aware as they are handmade products you will need to allow a small tolerance in your design.

I live near the sea, are stainless steel planters suitable for my garden?
Unfortunately stainless steel will corrode more easily near salt water, so the sea air would reduce the life expectancy of stainless steel products.  We would strongly recommend that you choose a GRP product rather than stainless steel or ask us to quote for marine grade stainless steel.

Are the measurements internal or external measurements?
All the measurements shown are the planter’s external measurements, if you require the internal measurements or the lip size please get in touch.

How can I irrigate my plants?
Our Root Refreshers are an excellent solution to irrigating plants, especially for gardens without a tap close to planters. For more information, please download our Root Refresher leaflet here.

Do your planters have drainage holes?
All our GRP planters are made without drainage holes, however we strongly recommend that drainage holes are put in if they are going outside. This can be done at the time of manufacture in our factory – free of charge or at a later date by yourselves simply by using a drill.

Do you have any brochures available to download?
Yes, please visit our brochure page.

I can’t see the size/shape/style I require – can you make any other products?
We bring out new designs all the time, so it is possible that we have just what you are looking for, also if not, we can make bespoke sizes to suit. The price would depend on the size, material, colour, design and finish. Please send us your drawings for a quote.

Can you add castors to the planters?
Yes we can add castors to the planters, but we would need to know about this when ordering as we would need to reinforce the base of the planter to accommodate them. We would also recommend that you use polystyrene when planting up to make the planters lighter to increase the longevity of the planters. For further guidance please download our planting up sheet.

Where are the planters made?
Our GRP planters are made in our factory in England.

How long does it take for my planters to be made?
This would depend on the type of planter chosen, the quantity and the time of year. On average our lead time ranges from 3 weeks in low season – 6 weeks in high season. For larger orders we will give you a more accurate lead time on your quote.

Do I need to line the planter?
All our timber planters are supplied with fibreglass lining to ensure longevity, though due to the properties of our GRP planters lining is not necessary. You may wish to add a liner to lock-formed galvanised, aluzinc or corten steel planters to make them water tight.

What if I order and the planter is wrong?
If the customer sends or approves the wrong sizes, colours or finish then the order cannot be refunded.
